As these uncharted waters continue, everyone has had to make adjustments to their lives, some more significant than others. August typically is a time of carefree memories, and parents preparing kids for back to school, but this summer many schools from kindergarten to college have announced virtual learning only. As a result, home has become more important than ever! Home is now a place where we live, work, teach, learn, eat, play and rest. This is making a lot of people reconsider where and how they live.
Now is the time to remember to look at the big picture and hope that most of the normal we once knew will return. I
am very much a people person, and there is so much I miss in my personal and work life. I find myself making more phone calls checking in on people, and even though we aren’t face to face it’s what I can do now to feel connected. For me it is helpful to think of things that can be done in the moment rather than letting the unknowns takeover because those things are out of our control. I look forward to the day when we can fully interact again, but for now I am a phone call away!
